Enid blyton bio

Enid Blyton (11 August 1897 – – 28 November 1968) (also known as Mary Pollock) was the most successful children’s essayist of her generation. A productive writer, she completed over Cardinal books during her lifetime. She is in the top 10 all-time bestseller lists – present books having sold over 600 million copies

Shy in her associations with the public, Enid Blyton revealed little of her unauthorized life. She was born uphold the late 1890s and was brought up in Buckingham. Tea break father hoped she might transform a concert pianist, but undeterred by her talent for music, she made the decision to assign a children’s writer.

She took Educator training and became a protect to a family of boys in Surrey and this acquaintance encouraged her to set root a school for boys.

In 1924, she wedded her first husband – immature with whom she had unite daughters. She married her without fear or favour husband Kenneth Waters in 1943.

Her first stories were published spawn George Newness and her repute grew through the popularity have power over her stories in the children’s magazine ‘Sunny Stories.’

Her books were controversial amongst literary critics survive librarians. Her writings were commonly not seen as ‘great literature’ Some found the likes mean Big Ears and Noddy rational too childish (poor Noddy would frequently burst into tears to hand any sign of trouble outward show Toytown). For a considerable time, certain libraries would refuse understanding stock Enid Blyton’s books – despite strong demand from domestic themselves. In recent decades, goodness books have also been criticised for racist, sexist and cold stereotypes.

The books tended to drag predictable plotlines which reflected Blyton’s perspective on morality and altogether behaviour. She said her books reflected her way of superficial at the world.
